$300 million

Cactus League Spring Training Fans Contributed More than $300,000,000 to Arizona’s Economy in 2007

I was digging around looking for some cactus league attendance stats and I ran across this. I also found that, once again, the Cubs had the highest attendance (Check Page 3). So, it makes me wonder: how much of that money is going into the Mesa economy?

Nice blog. I was reading this post and found it interesting how cubs again lead in attendance. The city has some great things, but need to encourage the connection and people to stay in the area longer and spend more money instead of leaving after the game. they need to draw people to downtown, and encourage uses that will draw people there. We are getting people here, now we need to them to stay a little longer which will help our buisiness thrive and money into our local economy.

Agreed. If people only pay for tickets, they aren't contributing to the economy as much as they could have.

The stadium is nice, but in my opinion is in a bad location. It is next to a cemetery and single family homes. The enviroment is not connected to keep people spending in mesa. When it is march, you want to be outside in Arizona. Its just going to be tough for the city or any planner or architect to connect the stadium with downtown.
